Consumers have a right to know and this right extends to affiliations between health professionals and other organizations. Dietitians have a Code of Ethics for their profession. Alexia follows this Code of Ethics. She values her reputation and believes in transparency. This is why she has chosen to fully disclose any potential or apparent conflicts of interest on this page.
Alexia’s opinions are based on her professional judgement, a review of the scientific evidence, and what she has seen firsthand in her experience working with clients. She chooses to associate herself only with organizations and products that she believes in. This means that they either:
(1) Can be included as part of a diet that is beneficial for heart health
(2) Promote evidence-based nutrition (based on research, not testimonials or endorsements)
(3) Are products that she uses or are causes that she supports
Disclosures
Transform App
Alexia loves the Transform app, which has been created by Chris Powell. She uses the app now and again for the workouts and used to follow their nutrition plan. She is now an affiliate because she likes the Meal Replacement Shakes and uses them in many recipes. Shop here where you can get 10 Single Serving Shakes for FREE plus a $10 gift card (and I get $10 as an affiliate).
Kind Snacks
Alexia has become a member of the Kind Nutrition Collective which means she gets shipments of Kind Snacks goodies and coupons to share with her clients in exchange for participation in surveys for Kind Snacks.
Regular Girl
Alexia has long said that people are NOT eating enough foods with fiber! Regular Girl is “a symbiotic blend of clinically proven prebiotic fibers and probiotics that help maintain a healthy digestive balance.” In other words, it’s a single-serve packet of fiber and probiotics that dissolves completely (for real!) and adds no flavor to what you mix it into. Alexia can offer customers 10% off orders and receives a 10% commission on sales – we both win! Info coming soon – check out this page for orders AND enter promo code ALEXIALEWISRD10.
Additional Food & Nutrition Disclosures
If Alexia has received food products but is not in an ambassador or affiliate relationship, you will see a disclosure on her blog reviews / articles and social media posts.

Nutrition Professional Associations
Alexia used to be a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the state-level Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the local district-level First Coast Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. However she is no longer a member of these organizations as she disagrees with the food industry relationships and the unavoidable conflict of interest that comes from food industry funds sponsoring conferences and continuing education for dietitians. She believes this harms the profession more than it helps. Alexia also prefers to dig into the most current research instead of following the Academy’s nutrition guidelines.
RDs for Disclosure
Alexia has taken the pledge with RDs for Disclosure, “a peer-enacted community of registered dietitians expressing their commitment for full disclosure in all forms of media and online communications.” You can review the pledge by clicking on the picture below.
Nutrition Blog Network
Alexia is proud to be a member of the Nutrition Blog Network. This is a network of blogs written by dietitians. There is no compensation or required topics. The Network provides publicity for blogs written by registered dietitians.
