Alexia’s goal is to give you a lifetime plan – a plan you can follow for life because it is balanced, flexible, and realistic. Alexia is not a “food cop” and she won’t tell you what to eat. Alexia will not give you yet another unrealistic or unhealthy structured meal plan or a long list of foods you should never eat. These plans are everywhere and they only work short-term. They do not promote a healthy and balanced relationship with food.
You, as a unique individual with a unique situation, are the focus. Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. Alexia will learn about you – your history, your challenges, your strengths – and help you find ways to translate all the confusing information about nutrition and food into specific and realistic goals that are tailored for your life, your situation, and your health. If you still really want that structured meal plan, then she will teach you how to make one that fits into your lifestyle and meets your nutritional needs.

What to Expect
If you are ready to make changes but aren’t sure what to do, then Alexia can show you how to plan meals, revise your recipes, navigate the grocery store, and find your best eating plan for your health goals.
If you are struggling with making changes or are inconsistent with your plan, then Alexia can work with you to uncover your motivation and overcome your challenges.
Alexia’s focus is on building your skills to enable you to successfully manage your health through your food choices. You will also receive accurate nutrition information and Alexia’s guidance to help you set small, achievable goals that move you towards your bigger health goals. She uses behavioral based coaching which is focused on uncovering motivation, goal-setting, and overcoming challenges.
Alexia does not believe in food rules, rigid meal plans, cutting out food groups, good versus bad foods, or letting that “food cop” in our heads tell us we are “good” or “bad” people. She does believe in educating you about foods and their effects on our bodies, flexibility with meal plans, eating all foods in moderation (unless it’s trans fat or you have an allergy/sensitivity, of course), and learning to love yourself and your body while improving your health and enjoying your food.
Your first appointment will be a discussion about your health history and your lifestyle habits including strengths and challenges. It will also include a review of your food intake. We will set 2-4 small goals. Subsequent appointments will check in on progress towards goals as well as focus on overcoming recurring challenges, building your skills, exploring emotional and non-food reasons for eating, and preventing or managing relapses. You will set the pace and can focus on 1-2 small changes at a time or a complete overhaul of eating habits.
